Celia Darbyshire

I am interested in landscape, memory and time, and the interrelationships between them.  I use age-old textile techniques such as weaving, coiling and stitch, and the modern technology of digital photography,  to explore my ideas.

Living amongst the South Downs, I cannot help but be aware of how man has changed the landscape over the millennia, and how we continue to do so. By placing much of my work in the natural environment, I try to draw attention to the way we are affecting our world.

Ashes to Ashes
